Hello from a member of the diaspora in New Zealand. My paternal grandmother was Clara Melita Holmwood Zohrab King, born in Wellington, NZ in 1872, died in 1940, the year before I was born. She was one of 9 sisters and had two brothers whose descendants have carried on the family name here. My wife Hilary is my first cousin, sharing the Zohrab ancestor. Clara’s father was Constantine Edward Zohrab, born Litherland, England 1842. They came here in 1863. His father was Peter Thomas Henry Gordon Zohrab, born Malta 1817. His father and uncle came out of New Julfa ca 1800 after some unpleasantness I don’t know much about. Our clan was Manucharian, from Julfa ca 1600, silk traders resettled in New Julfa. One of our family, Peter Zohrab, has posted as much history as he could, and it can be found by a Google search. Best Wishes, Tom King.
